Botox, Xeomin and Dysport are all a prescription neurotoxin medication that is injected into muscles of the face to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe facial lines. It works by blocking the release of chemicals that cause muscle contractions, resulting in softening of facial lines and creases. All three forms of Botox contain tiny amounts of a highly purified Botulinum Toxin protein refined from the bacterium, Clostridium botulinum.

You will begin to notice results within a few days on your injection and see the full results at 7-10 days and the results last up to four months. The average amount of time most people get out of a Botox treatment is about 3 months.

The Botox injection process takes about 15 minutes depending on where and how much Botox will be injected. Some patients report that being injected with Botox feels like a pinch. Your skin care specialist may use ice or cooling spray to numb the treatment area. If you are concerned about discomfort, your injector may also apply a topical numbing cream before administering your treatment.

You may feel slight tingling or burning sensation when injected, depending on the product utilized. It is very transient and improves within seconds.

After your Botox Cosmetic treatment, you can immediately resume regular activities. We do suggest remaining upright for the first 4 hours after your treatment and do recommend not engaging in strenuous exercise or activities for the first 24 hours to allow the injected product to remain in the spot in which it was injected, for the best results.
